Kids need to have fun too!

During the Good Neighbors Picnic, special care is made to provide a fun filled experience for the children of homeless families. In addition to our picnic meal, children can visit with Santa, play lots of games, have their faces painted, enjoy puppet shows and more. Volunteers provide small books for the children to read and take with them.

You can help with:

  • New or gently used small stuffed animals, handheld toys, and games that will fit in a child’s coat pocket.
  • Backpacks and back-to-school items (pencils, crayons, notebooks, glue, rulers, etc.)
  • Coloring or activity books and crayons
  • Small puzzles
  • Sponsoring children’s activities or arts and crafts projects for ages 2 to 17. Past activities have included face painting, creating beaded necklaces, finger-painting, and hosting a variety of carnival games and prizes.
